Challenge

Following recent acquisitions, our client requested our support to help standardise their Projects and Engineering management system and governance processes across its operating regions.

Approach

Working in partnership with our client we performed an analysis of existing legacy documentation and other documentation considered a priority for development.

We identified three key areas for standardisation and improvement, specifically:

  • Projects procedures / guidelines
  • Project Assurance 
  • Project Execution Plan Template

Solution

To ensure alignment between management board processes and functional projects and engineering processes, we mapped the interfaces between the areas of focus and the investment decision assurance process.

Through the development of the documents, we identified strengths and weaknesses of legacy documentation before we were able to define the unifying standard and way forward.

Outcome

The Telos team developed three key group level management system documents:

  • Projects & Engineering Capital Projects Procedure
  • Projects & Engineering Capital Projects Assurance guidelines
  • Projects & Engineering Project Execution Plan Template

The client was left with a platform and framework through which to further develop governance documents at group level, as well as implement standardisation across the group.
