Challenge

Our client operates in various locations worldwide (including UK, Africa and North America) and wanted to check the degree of implementation and consistency of application of its management system across the company, in particular in the following areas:

  • Risk register and environmental coverage
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Modern Slavery in supply chain
  • ESG data management 

Approach

In collaboration with various internal stakeholders, we prepared the Corporate HSES Plan which details the company HSES objectives for the year as well as the indicators that will be monitored. 

Definitions were provided for each indicator to ensure a consistent and robust approach to reporting across all assets in line with industry good practices. 

Formats and frequency of reporting was agreed upfront.

We also identified areas of the Management System which required updating to align with the Company commitment to integrate climate change considerations into key business decisions.

Solution

On a monthly basis, we gather, review  and aggregate data from the assets. Where required, we liaise with them to confirm the accuracy and validity of the data provided.

On a quarterly basis, we summarise the HSES performance for the board, highlighting trends and explaining variations.

On an annual basis, we provide a detailed greenhouse gas report which includes all the assumptions underpinning the calculations. We also provide input for the annual report published externally.

Outcome

We provide our client with reliable HSES  statistics that they can use to define their strategy, improve  their performance and communicate with third parties.

Our experts also assist in answering questions from stakeholders including lenders as well as providing competent HSES support to the wider organisation.
